After the Patriots’ hard loss in Foxboro, Massachusetts, to the Tennessee Titans, all heads were turned to Tom Brady. The forty-two-year-old quarterback of the Patriots who had been carrying their dynasty for twenty years. Brady is considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks to walk on the field, and he has the more Super Bowl rings than any other player. But now that his season and contract are over, we do not know the next step in this icon’s journey.
Brady has declared that he has wanted to play until forty-five, but that may not be realistic due to all the younger and healthier players coming into the league as Brady is getting older. If Brady would want to continue playing, there would also be a high possibility that you wouldn’t ever see him in a Patriots jersey because of his contract. The Brady and Belichick era could be over. Together they have won six Super Bowls, the most by any head coach and quarterback of all time.
Even if Brady wants to play another season with Patriots, he may not bring the Super Bowl potential that he’s brought almost every year of his twenty-year career. This may be a turning point for the Patriots, perhaps a younger healthier quarterback will exceed Brady’s standards.
Brady himself thinks differently on what others speculate to the end of his career, saying, “You don’t always win. You can, however, learn from that failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again,” Brady said. “And that’s right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove.”
